A Night in a Historic Icon of Prague

We made our reservation through Booking.com, where we secured a very attractive price for a standard room with breakfast included. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised – the reception kindly offered us a complimentary upgrade to a family room along with free parking for the entire duration of our stay. 🤩
Professional Approach from the First Moment
The reception staff appeared highly professional and courteous from the very first contact. Communication in English was completely natural, and it was clear that the staff were well-equipped with language skills and accustomed to an international clientele.
The overall demeanor was of a high standard while remaining warm and natural. The willingness to help and the friendliness never felt forced – quite the opposite. This first impression set a very pleasant tone for the entire stay.
Architecture and Atmosphere: Noble Historic Style
The hotel is an impressive building designed in a grand historic style. Wide staircases with red carpets, high ceilings, golden and brass details, and spacious corridors – everything feels representative and dignified.
This is not a modern minimalist hotel filled with artistic installations. It is classic elegance. A place that has its own history and character.
This historic character is not only visual – the hotel was built in the 1950s and today it is a protected cultural monument. In the past, notable personalities such as Usain Bolt, Martina Navratilova, Louis Armstrong, and Pierre Richard have stayed here.
Room: Comfort Without Surprises, but Without Compromises
The upgrade to a family room was a very pleasant bonus. Everything was perfectly clean, tidy, and prepared. The room corresponded to the standard of a four-star hotel designed in a historic style. It did not offer extravagant modern features – but it provided exactly what one expects: peace, comfort, and relaxation. The windows had excellent insulation. Even though the hotel is located next to a larger road, the room was perfectly quiet.
Breakfast: Organization That Makes Sense 👌
The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise. The space was clearly divided into sections:

a separate area with coffee machines

a dedicated section for juices
This organization allowed guests to move comfortably without unnecessary crowding in one place. Everything was clean, regularly replenished, and the service was very attentive.
A pleasant detail was also the attitude of other hotel employees – for example, the housekeeping staff were friendly, greeted guests, and appeared very welcoming.
Sky Bar on the 14th Floor: Prague from Above
The atmosphere was relaxing – pleasant music, well-chosen lighting, and plenty of space. The greatest highlight was the terrace that surrounds the entire bar. From here, a panoramic view opens over the whole of Prague.
You can walk around the bar and observe the city from every side. An evening sitting here with a cappuccino or a drink feels very calm and elegant. Prices were very reasonable and not overpriced, which is pleasantly surprising in this category of hotel.

The hotel is located in a quiet part of Prague 6, approximately 1 kilometer on foot from the Dejvická metro station. Nearby you will find restaurants, cafés, and the Czech Technical University (CTU).

A pleasant surprise for us was that the hotel provides a range of benefits – for example a discount card for selected Prague landmarks. Thanks to this we visited Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and other historic parts of the city with a discounted entrance fee (-50%).
Another lovely detail was a bottle of prosecco prepared in the room, as well as the possibility to use a complimentary car wash. 🤗
